Girls morning

This morning, i helped out with our junior high girls group. i was asked to do a scrapbooking project, so i copied and enlarged an 09 calendar, left the top part blank and we decorated those. They did a great job and seemed to have fun working on them. It was neat seeing everyone's different ideas on how to make theirs unique.

He actually got the curling iron out for Ben. The pictures don't quite show the wow-ness of this mess. We're doing baths tonight :) Have a happy weekend

Twins

Ben & Brad love to brush their teeth. They say "teeth time!" when they want to go brush. I told them today i want to get pictures of them before they brush their teeth. So we had a mini photo shoot in the bathroom. It was nice, they didn't have anywhere to run!

Adam's Dentist appt

Adam had his first dentist appt yesterday. He did so good. The main reason i wanted to take him is because his front 2 teeth turned gray after a fall he had. the gray is from the bruising, blood behind the teeth. The dentist also said they are loose and he will probably lose them within a year - 1 1/2 years. So that means he could be toothless for several years, since they don't typically grow back until 7 or 8 years old! we'll keep them in there as long as we can.

Painting fun for Everyone!

The boys did the some painting last week....I always get a little stressed thinking about doing crafts and things w/ the 3 of them. But God always gives me grace and helps me divey my time for each one. This time went about the smoothest ever. I even had time for pictures! And Ben put nothing in his mouth which was an added bonus. Here Adam is making a birthday card for car Grandma.....He managed to have a chapstick in both hands the whole time! A little obsessed I'd say.

I've also been painting. After doing adam's room, i decided that was fun and it's time to give some color to a couple other rooms.....When we got our house painted 3 years ago, we used a lot of neutrals, thinking we'd wait and see what gender kids we have and who sleeps where before we paint and decorate. I used some leftover yellow we had from our dining room to give some color to the master bathroom.

I'm currently working on kids bathroom which is getting some mixed reviews :) i'll post those later. It's been fun, but i'd rather be outside in the garden! soon!

Haiku

I wrote and painted this Haiku in 5th grade. My mom kept a lot of my art and creative writing papers from school, they are fun to look back on. I remember doing this one...The painting was done with a straw, the teacher put a blob of paint on the paper and we blew through the straw. I guess mine is supposed to be a tree! Haiku poems have 3 lines~ the first line has 5 syllables, the 2nd line 7 syllables, and the 3rd has 5 syllables. Here's what it reads:

Winter goes away

Then beautiful spring comes soon

Because of the Lord

My mom read this again recently and said "you never did like winter, did you?!"

Thank you Lord for Spring!!

What a Weekend!

I'll take this warm weather all the time now please! We spent most of today outside, it was a nice taste of Spring...

Flyers Game

My brother and I went to our annual Flyers game last night. It's our 4th year. I get tickets on ebay and they are pretty good seats. It's always fun hanging out with Michael and catching up on things. He always makes me laugh with his great sense of humor. I'm glad we can still get together even after me having kids. Well the scoreboard says it all (they lost), but we still had fun....didn't we Mikey?

Adam quotes

As I was doing my exercise video Adam asks "Mommy, does that hurt?" I said yes, a little....He says "well, that just doesn't seem right!" Poor guy was truly puzzled. I can see how that would be confusing for a 3 year old! How do you explain that mommy wants toned hips and thighs??

Adam was scolding Brad tonight for something minor. I let him go, since he was telling Brad gently not to be mean...When he was finished he said sternly "Now look at me Brad and say 'Yes Adam!'" hmmm, I think he hears something similar to that just about every day!

He surely keeps us laughing with some of his funnies. We think his outspoken personality will have lots of benefits in whatever God has for him down the road, if used properly...There comes the challenges of him spouting off mean things too. We are working on this, and trying to be consistent!

Snapfish contest

I entered this picture in a contest that snapfish is doing...."Where would you rather be" is the name of the contest and you can send 1 picture to fit that title, without people on it. So this one was mine! It's from our trip in Aruba this past fall. It's fun getting on snapfish's website and look at all the other entries...there are thousands!! BUT i like my chances :) The first place winner gets a trip for four to Orlando, FL!! Of course Rod being the practical one says 'we're NOT going to FL and paying taxes on the "free" trip'. Bummer. Here i was trying to decide who we were going to take with us on our free Florida trip! Guess I'll just play around in the snow and dream of my "free" Florida trip...
