"I'm Thankful For......"

This morning on the way down to Grandma's I asked the boys what they are thankful for..Here was their responses.....

Adam: "Chapstick!" (oh boy) and "For the rain, that it cleans off my dirty bikes!"

Brad: "Caleb and Rina". (Aww)

Ben: "Benny"

Hearing their answers made me want to come up with my own list of things. Probably not a bad idea! Since we have so much to be thankful for.

Beach Day!

Ok, so it was actually a pond next to my brother's farm but we used our imagination. I had a fun day with the boys, & my side of the fam down at my old stompin' grounds. I grew up at this pond, we could walk there from where i lived. It hasn't changed much, a little sand area, picnic table, shade, and a nice big pond. It's always breezy down there and felt good. I was surprised to hear it was 90+ degrees today. It didn't feel that hot down there.
As you can see, everyone was very busy!
Grandma packed a picnic, thanks mom!

Creativity Camp

Our church did a different twist to Bible School this week. We had different crafts to share with the kids, they were to sign up for the class they wanted to take. Some of the classes were Photography, cake decorating, wood working, etc. My class was card making. I had 3 girls and we had a good time. It was fun showing them little things they can do to create a card. They did so good, and really used their time wisely. they did tons of cards! I liked the layout of the evening. Everyone met in the sanctuary for a 20 minute devotional/singing type thing. then went to their first 45 min. class, then snack, then another 45 min. class. They did this for 4 days, then the last day (tonight) everyone showcased what they did over the past 4 days. Fun to see! The benefit of a smaller class was that i got to play too!! This one is for you Pam! My cards...

One Year Bible update

So we're halfway through the year, but i'm not halfway through my Daily Walk Bible! I did however get past Numbers and that was a big milestone for me :) I'm enjoying it, i've never read it straight through like this. I always just would read whichever book or chapters i felt like reading. But this is definetly eye opening, i'm learning a lot. I'm only in 2 Kings right now. and since it's not April 20th, I'm assuming i won't read through in a year, but my new goal is 2 years!
I look forward to seeing what God shows me through these readings..

City Island

Rod and I had a date night Friday night and went out to City island. We had so much fun that we decided to go again the following night and take the boys! There's so much to do there on this little island, it's such a cute little place. We took a train ride around the island, played on the playground, in the sand boxes, ate supper, then took a boat ride. The Harrisburg Senators play there also, but we didn't take in any games...even though they were playing the Reading phillies both nights. It was fun, feeling like we "got away" even though it's only 40 minutes away! We hope to go back again. Something peaceful about being on the water!

This week, we have bible school, which starts in a few hours (i need to prepare!). Other then that, not much on the calendar! i'm hoping to have more energy this week then last week, as i was fighting a cold. What beautiful SPRING-like weather :0) enjoy.

Here's a glimpse of our breakfast time lately. The boys like to pretend their spoons are airplanes.... gets rather loud! Today, instead of trying to calm them down, i decided to video it.

Weekend

Hope you all had a good July 4th weekend. Our house was a busy place, with having houseguests every night, upstairs and downstairs. At one point there were 8 kids in the house! It was good for the boys to have to share space and toys. They did a good job. Friday night - Saturday we had the extended Gingrich family campout which was a lot of fun. We had great weather and lots of activities. We're hoping to make it an annual tradition. We had quite a good turnout too, with family being in from Montana, Chile, NY, and VA.
Here were some highlights of the weekend....
For some reason, i'm having trouble putting in captions for the photos, but these are all pics from our campout, someone spotted the snake while the men where setting up the slip and slide. it was right beside the boys pool, where they play by themselves...very comforting.! Adam didn't like the slip and slide, unless he went down with me and his face didn't get wet! Rod has some airplane buddies, (ultralight) and he spoke with a guy last week and asked him to do a "fly by" at our place friday night. So two ultralights flew by and did some tricks for us for some fun entertainment. It was a cold night to be sleeping out! i was with adam outside on the hammock until 2:30am, then decided to go in the barn. I got more sleep after that! It was a fun and tiring weekend!
