Adam Quotes

One never knows what this boy will say...

The other day in the car, Adam says in his most disgusted tone..."I'm going to spank the sun's patty's, i do not want it in my eyes!!!"

Last week i asked if he was getting a cold, he replies "NO, I'm getting the sniffles!" well exuuuuse me!

I had a pimple the other day. This was bothering Adam, he wanted it gone. (didn't we all) It was very windy that day. He said "Can you go outside and make it blow away?" Too cute.

Jim Macks

This is one of our favorite places to go with the boys. It's an icecream shop, in Writesville, with little kitty rides scattered around the property..There's also a "zoo", a bounce house, arcade, and mini golf course. Actually, i confess, this was one of our favorite places to go BEFORE kids too. Rod and I got hooked on the pinball games. But now it's fun to get a quick meal, icecream, and watch the kids enjoy the rides and feeding the animals. We went tonight for probably the last time this year. They stay open year round, but just not the same when it's cold out! We're thankful for such a fun and entertaining place to go that's nearby and inexpensive. Here's some pics of our visit to Jim Mack's throughout this year.

Free Kitties

Yup, we're trying to get rid of some kitties again. Aren't they cute? We're planning on keeping the calico on the left. She wasn't suppose to be in the pic, but ran over to the other cat as i was taking it. There are 2 black ones, and this half cali one on the right. Let us know if you or someone you know wants one! They are 2 1/2 months old now. We now have 3 generations of kitties, all are 1 year apart! so you see why we try to keep the population down. We been keeping 1 kitty from each litter. I'll say this about them...they cooperate for pictures! That was much easier then trying to get pictures of the boys :-)

Big Boy!

We started some serious potty training today. Adam asked to wear his car underwear, so before & after his nap he wore them. I took him to the potty every 15 minutes, & he peed every time (and twice while not at the potty :) every time he went potty i put an m&m in a jar. when he peed in his undies, i took an m&m out of the jar. at the end of the night i gave him what was left in the jar. A friend told me about this & i thought it would work w/ adam. I'm pleased so far, he seems "into it" this time around. the problem might be me, it's sooo time consuming doing this. i need to stay on top of it. the twins have to come along to the bathroom and see what's going on. poor adam, that's the kind of thing you have bad dreams about! (people watching you go) or is that just me??

15 Year Reunion!

We hosted Rod's 15 year high school reunion on Sunday. It went really well. There were approx. 53 classmates, 180 people total including the spouses and children. We weren't expecting that many people! So we had to tap into my plates and mugs from the house :) We weren't complaining though, we were so pleased with the turnout. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Rod's been talking about this for so long and looking forward to it, so i'm glad it was a success. The next couple weeks will be quieter for me now, yay!

Birthday

Today was my REAL birthday! It was a good day. My mom has the twins overnight & Rod's mom has Adam overnight. almost a full 24 hours w/out kids! We went out to eat tonight, ran a couple errands, and went to the Farm & Home center for their twice yearly twins yard sale. Fun evening just the 2 of us. Rod got me these Willow Tree figurines for my birthday. So cute, I love them.

Later on tonight i discovered Rod added a figurine i had gotten him after Adam was born. I believe he's hinting around at something here....Um, I don't think so!

Church Pig Roast

We had another gorgeous day for our annual church pig roast. It's become a fun tradition for us, every year we "feature" an animal. the first year we had alpacas, last year a mini horse, then this year 2 calves. Ok, so the animals are getting less and less glamorous, but the kids don't seem to notice. They really enjoy themselves, and the adults too. In addition to a pig roast, we have a campfire, bounce house, barrell train rides. This year we opened up the one barn and had a table in there for card playing, which the youth claimed. Some younger kids found the kitties. It's a joy to see everyone enjoy themselves. It's also great to fellowship w/ church members outside of church. We don't do regular fellowship meals, so we consider this our "all out" yearly fellowship meal :) A lot of people pitched in and helped which makes the workload less on Rod and I. Here are some pics from the evening. Thought i would end w/ this one from Adam....Not sure what the deal was there!!

Rod

The kids get enough face time, it's time i do a post on Rod. These last couple weeks he's been busy getting the barns cleaned up for our church picnic that will be held here this coming Sunday & Rod's 15 year class reunion the following Sunday. I always knew Rod was a hard worker, but these past few years, especially w/ the house construction, I've been amazed with how hard and diligent he has worked. Long hours and lots of research goes with it. He likes to do things right the first time! Here's a picture of him at the top of the tobacco shed, inside, installing hookup for a big outside light, so our guests can see each other after dark! This was kinda scary to watch, he's just standing on boards that he took up with him. Being a monkey again on the outside of the shed, final step in getting the light installed...
Thanks Rod for all you do to make our place more inviting to people!!

MAMA!!

Last week it dawned on me....now that the twins are talking i hear the word mama/mommy A LOT...so i decided to count how many times i hear mommy in one day from my 3 kids. Well....i stopped counting at 6:00pm (rod and i went out for a date) and i already counted 97!! no joke. i took my counting very seriously too, marked 'em all up on my dry erase board. You'd think i'd have better things to do, right?!?! Anyhow, it was fun and kinda funny. So now i know. Next i count "what" "why" and "mine!" naaah, i'd rather not know :)

Growing

When the babies first came home from the NICU, they 'lived' in this rubbermaid container for the first month or so. It was pretty handy. Today I got it out again and put them in there....Here's what they look like now! Wow
This week I'm going to be taking some of their preemie clothes to the NICU to give to a mother with twin sons. I'm looking forward to going in there again and maybe talking w/ the mother who will get the clothes.

Good Book

I'm not one for reading, but i knew i had to read this one......a little over a month ago i was struggling with the pressures of being a mom, and really overwhelmed with it. Feeling like a had to do everything just right, especially for the twins who i felt had an unfair start to their life. Well one day in particular i was fasting and praying for wisdom and insight on how to raise these boys. That very day Rod's aunt stopped in with this book! She didn't know anything, but she read it herself and thought she'd pass it along to me! The book touches on everything I've been struggling with. it was amazing and really releases christian moms from the pressure of parenting. She encourages and challenges you to instead put your primary focus on your relationship with God. It was quite good. If anyone wants to read it, I'd be happy to pass it on before i return it to Rod's aunt.
